Oh the things we do!

Cliff had to work on Saturday so I had a lot of extra time on my hands. I was preparing my lesson for my Young Women ( I teach the beehives) and I decided I wanted to make them a treat. I had read in a magazine quite some time ago a recipe for making homeade fortune cookies, so I jumped online and found a recipe. After experimenting on few batches these are what I came up with. I even put a message in the middle that went along with my lesson. It was a lot of work and Cliff, although impressed, thought it was kind of funny that I had spent the whole afternoon making cookies just to go along with my lesson. I would have to agree with him but the girls really liked them, I learned something new, it was fun and I think they turned out cute.

The Lion KIng

Thursday Night we had a girls night out and went to see The Lion King at the Capital Theatre. First we had dinner at The Garden, which is on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building. It was delicious! Afterwards we walked a couple blocks down to see the show. It was amazing!! The costumes and stage scenery were incredible. We were also lucky enough to be able to go back stage after the show was over and take a tour and see some of the costumes and props up close and personal. It was awesome (thanks Valynn!) We had a great time!

Here we are at Dinner!

24th of July 5K

Cliff decided to run a 5k with a friend of ours from our ward on the 24th of July. They ran it in about 36 minutes which was not bad at all considering it was his first one and he only had a couple weeks notice to train. I was so proud!! Hopefully I will be running right along beside him when he runs his next race!!

Poulton Family Reunion

Here are some pictures from our Poulton Family Reunion in July, as you can see we all had a blast. These are pictures from the waterslide but we also camped out in my parents backyard the rest of the time. I had so much fun chatting and visiting with everyone that I didn't take many pictures. If it wasn't for Aileen I probably wouldn't have these ones either. It was great to see everyone!!

4th of July

Here we are at Sugar House Park with Jon, Julie, Emmy, Jake and Eli (Cliff's sister's family) We got there about 3 hours before the fireworks started, but it was worth the wait the fireworks were great and so was the company! The weather was awesome(not too hot at all!) In fact, as you can see, I had to put a hoodie on when it started getting dark because I got a little chilly.
I'm not sure if you can see but in the 1st picture to the right of Jon you can see a man in a blue plaid shirt, and then if you look in front of him to the right you can barley see a brown paper bag. It was the biggest paper bag I have ever seen! This cute little old Indian lady had it and when she stood up next to it, it came up past her waist. We thought it was so funny and were laughing and joking about it the whole night! We wondered what was in there that was so big and would need that big of a bag to carry it and how it wouldn't break through the bottom when you picked it up. The only thing we could think of was popcorn, but I'm pretty sure we were wrong.

Surprise Getaway!!

I came down all ready for work on Thursday morning when Cliff (my adorable husband) informed me that he was sweeping me away to Southern Utah for the next couple days. He had gone to all the trouble of getting a couple days off work for me and booking a couple days in a hotel for us all without me knowing, I was totally surprised!!
We left that morning and spent the next two days exploring Zion's national park, laying by the pool and even did some shopping in St. George. The weather was goregous and we had so much fun!! We had a hard time coming home, it was a much needed getaway!!
